Tyler Kiriakis was concieved through articifial insemination. Shawn Brady and Mimi Lockhart & Philip Kiriakis and
Belle Black both had this done in hopes of concieving. However, the petri dishes were switched and Shawn & Belle concieved
a child together (though later miscarriaged) and Philip and Mimi concieved a child together who was being carried by Shawn
and Mimi's designated surrogate, Lauren. After the switch was revealed, Philip and Mimi signed away their rights to their
unborn child and believed that Lauren had gotten an abortion. However, Bonnie, Mimi's mother, paid Lauren to carry the baby
in hopes that Bonnie would be able to raise the Kiriakis baby in one of her hair-brained money schemes. But Bonnie was soon
sent to jail, leaving Lauren and the baby's fate up to them. Lauren began calling Bonnie in jail telling her that she owed
money. Bonnie soon called Mimi and told her and Mimi called Shawn in hopes that he can help her. Shawn met up with Lauren
but did not see Tyler. Lauren abandoned the baby at Salem University Hospital and is living with Kayla and Steve Johnson.
Philip has no clue that his son, whom he is searching for, is now so close. Kayla has given Tyler the nickname "Pocket" as
she does not know his real name. Tyler has been portrayed by twin girls, Gabriella and Thalia since August 10th 2007. One
of the girls is afraid of Steve's patch.
